In a joint degree program, RIU and a partner university design and deliver a single curriculum together, and graduates receive one degree conferred jointly by both institutions. It is the deepest form of academic cooperation — the two universities agree on shared learning outcomes, shared quality assurance, and a shared diploma.

RIU builds joint programs on the foundation of more than thirty international partnerships and its joint Education Research Center with Abay Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University (Kazakhstan), founded in 2022 to cover joint programs, faculty and graduate-student exchange, and joint publications.

Joint programs are taught partly in English and partly in Mongolian, with study periods at both campuses. Admission criteria, credit recognition, and the structure of the joint award are fixed in advance by the bilateral agreement, so students know the full path before they begin.
